Over the past two decades, China’s shipping industry has undergone a remarkable transformation into a dominant global force in shipping. Celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, both the Dalian office and Captain Ming Chen have witnessed this transformation firsthand.
“We have significantly expanded our presence in China over the last 20 years to keep pace with the needs of the local market,” said Annie Ng, Head of Asia, who opened the office in 2006.
Captain Chen joined the Dalian office shortly after its opening as its Chief Representative and was promoted to Country Head – China in 2016. A graduate of Dalian Maritime University, Captain Chen is a longtime resident of Dalian and has seen the rapid evolution of China’s shipping industry firsthand, both at sea and shoreside. As the industry has grown, Captain Chen has focused on steadily strengthening the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Registry’s reputation among Chinese shipowners through high-quality client service and technical support.
“Our team in China remains focused on high-quality client service, from shoreside resources to expert technical and fleet operations support. Chinese shipowners and operators know that we offer highly qualified resources, support, and assistance as they continue to navigate an evolving market,” noted Annie.
